Today, Crate Entertainment took to the Grim Dawn forums to make two major announcements. The first, and biggest of the two is that Grim Dawn will be seeing a second expansion released later this year titled “Forgotten Gods”. According to the post:
“In the Forgotten Gods expansion, you will journey beyond the bounds of the Erulan Empire, traversing burning sands, lush oases and volcanic wastes to reach the sun beaten ruins of a city with secrets that should never have been disturbed. The flames of a forgotten god have been rekindled, sending ripples through the Eldritch realm and sowing terror even among the Witch Gods themselves.”
Also part of the news was confirmation that Grim Dawn is indeed coming to the Xbox One as had been rumored for some time. Being that I’ve come to adore Diablo III on PS4, and the ARPG genre in general on console, I had been hoping for a console port for some time (even if Xbox One isn’t my console of choice). This means Xbox One owners will now have access to three of the best games in the genre including the previously mentioned Diablo III and Path of Exile.
Last year, Crate released “Ashes of Malmouth”, the first expansion to the game. I’m ashamed to say I haven’t spent much time with it yet as I made a new character utilizing the two new classes introduced in said expansion and haven’t made my way to that content yet. I can say that Grim Dawn is an excellent game that deserves as much content as we can get our hands on. I’m glad to see that console owners will finally have a chance to play and I’m super pumped to get my hands on this expansion. Crate says they are returning to their bi-weekly updates on their forums so you can check back for more details every two weeks.
